International thriller - Beckett (2021) - Review

Writer's picture: Dan BrooksDan Brooks

Following a tragic car accident in Greece, Beckett, an American tourist, finds himself at the center of a dangerous political conspiracy and on the run for his life.

This one starts off slow but soon turns into an international thriller. John David Washington carries this movie on his back with his performance. It seems Netflix is cranking out the content and more and more Hollywood stars are making the move to the small screen with the rising juggernaut of a production company. Washington's character takes so much punishment and abuse that by the end of the movie his sheer willpower is all that is keeping him alive. It's not the most captivating idea, and there are literally no plot twists that you cant see coming, but I was still entertained enough by this one that it's worth recommending. Let me know your thoughts.
