Zombie Tiger Oh my!! - Army of the Dead (2021) - Review
Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.
Zombies are everywhere!! This is a great new movie in the world of zombies which since the "Walking Dead" has become fairly normal as a storyline in Hollywood. Zack Snyder gives a great version of the zombie apocalypse starting off what will surely be a franchise starting event, as there is already a prequel shot and produced with animated backstories already in development, and by the ending of this one, a sequel soon to be made. Dave Batista does a wonderful job selling the main character and having a great range of emotions and humor during the story. The movie is a little bit longer than a normal Zombie movie but the character development is good and needed. All too often in Zombie movies, you don't care enough about the characters to morn them if they die. This movie lets you attach yourself to the characters so it matters what happens to them. I liked the fact that the creators assume you already know what zombies are so not a lot of time is spent explaining that, and they get right into the story. The action is solid, and the backdrop reminds me a little of "I am Legend" when it comes to the main villains. All in all, if you are a fan of this genre, you will enjoy this movie. There is a fair bit of gore, so be prepared, and how can you go wrong with a zombie Tiger??? I would have liked to see the bigger picture of the universe, but am happy to wait for the sequel to see that. If you watched it and liked it or hated it, let me know your thoughts
