Set 10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, he is now living under an assumed name in Upstate New York, Iron Lake, far from his original home in Miami.
Dexter is back to re-write the ending of a brilliant series. Fans were disappointed as was the cast in how they ended the series. In an attempt to give Dexter the send-off he deserves the creators are back for a do-over and the fans are eager to see what the last chapter will look like. I, being a big fan of this show was not impressed with the debut. I will of course continue watching but found that the first episode was very transparent and easy to foresee. With the symbolism and the surprise appearance all being transparent and predictable. One of the great things about this show was its ability to surprise you with shocks and awes, which had you talking at the water cooler the next day in the office. So far this one is not living up to the hype. I am hoping that the writers do not fumble this again.
Ranking 6/10 with lots of optimism.
