Weekend Re-Run #3

Writer's picture: Dan BrooksDan Brooks

From time to time it is great to re-watch older movies that I enjoyed. I miss watching TV and seeing a movie starting and trying to figure out what the movie is just by watching the opening few seconds of the movie. It was a game we played, and more often than not, we ended up watching the movie afterward. Here are a few movies I enjoyed again over the weekend.

The Old Gaurd:

Had to watch this one again. The premise is just so great. Reminds me of the 80's Highlander movie. People that live forever, and you just don't know why. It's better that they don't explain it, because the explanations never live up to the hype. Netflix is getting good at creating these action movies.

The Expendables trilogy:

These movies are made for the "action fan". Over the top, ridiculous scenes with corny one-liners and lots of testosterone and alpha males. When you want to shut off the brain and watch stuff blow up, this is the trilogy for you. With almost every action hero from the 80's to now in the films, there is something for every action fan. Can't wait to see what comes next from this franchise. Stallone still knows what action fans are looking for.
