War amongst the stars - The Expanse (2015) Series - Review
Hundreds of years in the future, the Solar System has been colonized by humanity. The three largest powers are the United Nations of Earth and Luna, the Martian Congressional Republic on Mars, and the Outer Planets Alliance (OPA), a loose confederation of the asteroid belt and the moons of Jupiter and Saturn.
This is one of the best SCI-FI shows to come out in a while. It has picked up a cult following that has helped it survive after originally being cancelled by its first network owner Syfy and renewed by Amazon Prime Video. The story is huge, and spans millions of miles in space. Humans are at war with each other, and run the risk of bringing humankind to its knees. One of the things I love about this show, is how it is not afraid to kill off main characters to make the audience never know what to expect. It starts off with a huge blast of adrenaline in the first season, before setting the stage for a three pronged political and violent clash for the next 4 seasons. Sprinkle in some proto molecules that could destroy all life in the universe, and you have the makings of a great epic. In the shadow of the remade Battlestar Gallatica, this show gives me hope of what SCI-FI is moving towards in the future. Not all visions of the future utopia and ideal like Star Trek wants it to be. Humans are cutthroat and some are just evil. Its in our natures we need to have it in our shows to seem believable. This one is a must watch for any space junkie and SCI-FI fan like me. Give it a watch and let me know what you think. Can't wait for season six...
