Twisted Robin Hood - The Misfits (2021) - Review

Writer: Dan BrooksDan Brooks

A band of modern-day Robin Hoods known as "The Misfits", recruit renowned thief Richard Pace (Pierce Brosnan) to help them pull off the heist of the century. The prize: millions in gold bars stashed underneath one of the world's most secure prisons. Hold on tight for a globe-trotting, action-packed new thriller.

I am not so sure about this one. It was mildly entertaining at times but felt like a few movies smashed together into a love child of sorts. Take Oceans Eleven, which had a great cast and impeccable timing in one-liners and great dialog and the James Bond character played by Brosnan have them make a crazy lovechild and you have this movie. A romancing over the hill Bond and a band of misfits literally robbing some bad guys of all their gold. Along the way throw in a redemption Dad story and leave it all with an opening end, to spawn other spinoffs if the audience wants more. The only problem is they won't want anymore. Renny Harlin usually does better with his movies but I was kind of let down by this one. There were no real surprises and I was kinda hoping for a good twist at the end. Better luck next time Renny. If you do decide to watch this one, tell me your thoughts.
