In debt to the mob and in need of a new money-making scheme to save his skin, greedy grind-house film producer, Max Barber, (Robert Deniro) decides to produce a dangerous new film, all for the sake of killing his lead actor in a stunt so he can rake in the insurance money.
A classic tale of a hustler in debt with mobsters and robbing Peter to pay Paul until their luck runs out. This is a goofy little dark comedy about a hustle to cash in on insurance fraud. In their constant failed attempts at making a quick buck, this movie has some heavy hitters like Robert Deniro and Morgan Freeman having some fun playing some despicable characters and Tommy Lee Jones playing the suicidal cowboy. The ending is a little flat, but it's still worth a watch to see the goof and gaffs when you are bored on a Sunday afternoon. It had lots of potential but seemed to go exactly where you were expecting from start to finish. If you decide to watch, I would love to hear your thoughts.
