Silent Heroes of WW1- The War Below (2021) - Review

During World War I, a group of British miners are recruited to tunnel underneath no man's land and set bombs from below the German front in hopes of breaking the deadly stalemate of the Battle of Messines.

Historical drama movies are usually pretty good. This one is no exception. I am always amazed at what some people will do when faced with a situation that is bigger than them. Will they rise to the occasion or run and hide. This one is a gritty story of the miners in the first world war that tunneled below the German lines to change the tide of the war. I was impressed with this one. It had characters to love and hate, and you wanted to see how the story would end. In a war that was brutal and ugly, a few men were called to do something almost impossible. This one was made on a shoestring budget but still manages to take you right into the battles and the horror of the war. If you like historical movies add this one to your list.
