A 2021 American crime drama film directed by Tom McCarthy, based on a script he co-wrote with Marcus Hinchey, Thomas Bidegain, and Noé Debré. It stars Matt Damon as an unemployed oil-rig worker from Oklahoma who sets out with a French woman (Camille Cottin) to prove his convicted daughter's (Abigail Breslin) innocence.
This sad story was one you just had to see how it ended. That being said, the ending was just a little too real and unfulfilling for me. Matt Damon has a talent for becoming a blue-collar worker in a lot of his movies, and he seems very natural in that role. Sometimes it's tough to imagine a-listers in blue-collar roles but Matt pulls it off well. There is not much a Dad would do to protect his little girl, and this movie pushes those boundaries. Give it a watch and let me know what you think.
