Pandemic fatigue? Station Eleven (2021) Series - Review

Writer's picture: Dan BrooksDan Brooks

A post-apocalyptic saga spanning multiple timelines, telling the stories of survivors of the devastating flu as they attempt to rebuild and reimagine the world anew while holding on to the best of what's been lost.

More pandemic shows, that take what we are living through and make a story about if it was way worse. This one is a slow-burn brain teaser. Told over the lifetime of the main character, you watch her go from early on in the pandemic as a child just trying to survive, to becoming a leader of a traveling play that is trying to build back the civilization lost. The depths at which people will choose safety over humanity are put to the test in this series. With a comic book being a token of her hold on sanity, this woman, shows even in the darkest of times the entertainment of a play, can calm the masses. It's not action-packed, even though there are bits of action in the show, it more focuses on the main characters' struggle to hold onto humanity, while the world around her turns savage. This one is a thinker so it's not for everyone, but I liked it. Tell me your thoughts.
