Martial arts feel good movie? - Born a Champion (2021) Review

Mickey Kelley, one of the first American black belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, gets pulled away from everything he loves and into an unsanctioned MMA tournament.

Every once and a while, there is a fighting movie that comes along, where the fighting is not the only part of the story. Of course this movie has fighting in it, and some of it is very good, but there is more to this story than just the fighting. Its a feel good movie, with some ups and downs, but in the end I came away liking this one a fair bit. Its not the same as the big Hollywood "Rocky" or "Kickboxing" movies, but it has you routing for the underdog just the same. Its amazing what some people will risk for their sport. The sacrifice and pain these fighters endure can seem pointless at times, but the dedication is impressive. Dennis Quaid seems to find these little gems to star in. He changes things up playing one of the bad guys but with a twist. This one is worth a watch for sure. Let me know what you think of it.
