Lord of the Ten Rings - Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) - Review

Writer: Dan BrooksDan Brooks

Martial-arts master Shang-Chi confronts the past he thought he left behind when he's drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.

What is this movie trying to be? Part of the bigger MCU universe? YES. A buddy movie with a quirky sidekick? YES. A prodigal son returning to an evil Father to make things right? YES. A fantasy adventure with Dragons and other dimensions? YES. This movie had lots of things going on at once, and if you are easily sidetracked you could fall into some of the side stories and forget the bigger intention of this origin story for the bigger Avengers addition. Looping in characters from other Marvel movies, this story had a little of everything, but somehow managed to hold it together just enough to be entertaining. There were things that could have been polished a little better and plot points that seemed jammed into an already huge story, but at the end of the movie, I came away entertained. Lately, Marvel has been cramming so much hidden content into their productions that it will take many months to disect all the hidden gems. If you are a Marvel fan, you will enjoy it. If you are not a Marvel fan, forget the hidden content and you will still enjoy this fantasticdissect martial arts extravaganza. Let me know your thoughts.
