It follows the dangerous journey of a radical idealist and brilliant inventor, Allie Fox, who uproots his family for Mexico when they suddenly find themselves running from the US government.

A reimagining of the book and movie from the eighties, this one has a slow burn and builds with tension in every episode. It reminded me of the terrible family decisions from the Ozark series, and how bad of a parent you can be to your children in the name of survival. With lots of secrets and storylines, this one will keep you guessing. Starting its second season recently, we will see if the bad decisions keep coming and how these parents can truly terrorize their children this season. It takes a few episodes to get into the feel of this one but give it a chance. An interesting fact about this series...The original book was written by Paul Theroux and turned into a movie. 35 years later it is being remade into a series starring his nephew, Justin Theroux. That's pretty cool.
