Epic fantasy tales - The Wheel of Time (2021) Series - Review

Set in a high fantasy world where magic exists, but only some can access it, a woman named Moiraine crosses paths with five young men and women. This sparks a dangerous, world-spanning journey. Based on the book series by Robert Jordan.

I struggled with this one right out of the gate. When the first few lines seem to blame everything on men made me very skeptical that I would enjoy it. Fantasy is a genre that I like almost as much as SCI-FI. Lord of the rings, Lion with and the wardrobe, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones are all great fantasy stories, and now this one is right there with them. This is a very big story so we will see how the series covers so many storylines and weaves them all together. Huge casts and large sets make this one easy to fall right into the mythos. It got my attention in the first few episodes, and if the writers can hold off injecting political cometary and current social warrior agenda into the scripts, I think this one could be great. Time will tell.
