Down for the count - Jungleland (2019) - Review

Updated: Nov 19, 2020

Two brothers try to escape their circumstances by traveling across the country for a no holds barred boxing match that becomes a fight for their lives.

In this gritty boxing movie. Two brothers try to climb out of the desperate hole they are in, with the occasional victory then the inevitable slide back into chaos. This movie is a decent indie movie, but never raised to the potential it had. The acting was good, but I never really cared about the characters enough to be upset when they failed. I expected it. I was never cheering for them to succeed. The movie is well made, but with not connecting to the characters enough, I did not enjoy it as much as I should have.
