All the damn Vampires - Day Shift (2022) - Review

A hard-working, blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted 10-year-old daughter. His mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income: hunting and killing vampires.

All the damn Vampires…It would seem the Vampire genre is not entirely done yet. Jamie Fox carries this movie which tries to do too many things at once. The dark side of this movie is delicious. Action-packed and violent. The comedy in this movie is too campy and annoying. Looking back, some good Vampire movies that blended these themes together well were The Lost Boys and Near Dark. I have to say Dave Franco was very annoying in his sidekick role. I was counting the minutes until his parts were done. Snoop dog on the other hand was more subtle with the humor and made it work. Entertaining in parts, but lacked the appeal to get a higher ranking. Just be glad it's included in your Netflix subscription and you don't have to pay more for this one. Watch when you have very few options you have not already seen.

Ranking 6.5/10
