A comedy without too many laughs - Me Time (2022) - Review

It follows a dad who finds time for himself for the first time in years while his wife and kids are away. He reconnects with a friend for a wild weekend.

I thought this one would be better than it was. It had the star power going for it, but it never delivered on the humor. Maybe I am just getting old but fart and vomit jokes just don’t make me laugh. This one had a few mildly humourous parts but as a comedy, it just did not deliver. Hollywood must stop trying to de-gender classic marriage roles and start making funny movies again. Part of the humor we miss from the eighties movies is seeing people out of their element and trying to cope with what others usually handle so well. This movie tries to do that but it is never really believed. It would have been much better if it was more like Mr. Mom from the eighties. Hart as a stay-at-home dad that tries to go back to his parting days is not as funny. Swing and a miss for me Netflix, but keep trying. You will get it right sooner or later.
